Diet and Exercise Is the Healthiest Way to Lose Weight
In addition to following a high-fiber, low-calorie diet to promote weight loss, doctors advise their patients to get adequate amounts of exercise each week because the body was made to move! Exercising is good for the body, heart and lungs. As you move your body, your blood starts flowing and oxygen is carried to tissues all over your body, allowing it to function properly. In addition, exercise has the power to make you feel rejuvenated and energized. Exercise can be used to burn fat or help you maintain a healthy physique. Some exercise methods are meant for relaxation and others will really get your heart pumping for weight loss purposes. Two of the most popular weight loss exercises allow for peak performance and can help you build strength for endurance, stamina and better quality performance in sports: Plyometrics and Interval Training.
Plyometrics
Plyometrics focuses on doing short, rapid muscle movements, then taking a brief rest and then performing another explosive period of muscle movement. This type of exercise can help you get a strong muscle contraction in the shortest amount of time. A lunging scissor motion, wherein you bend and extend your legs quickly, is one example of this training. Before beginning this type of exercise program, be sure to talk with your doctor. Before starting, you have to take into consideration your age, body weight, technique, and the surface upon which you will be exercising. This will help ensure your safety throughout the exercising session. Remember, never perform plyometrics on concrete. Instead, do plyometrics on a softer surface like grass or a gymnastics mat. If you are under 13 years old or over 250 pounds, be sure to always start at low intensities.
Interval Training
With interval training, you will focus on doing bursts of high-intensity movement followed by less intense movements. This rotation is done in spurts of several minutes. You may sprint for two minutes and then walk for two minutes, rotating throughout the exercise session. You can do interval training twice a week to burn more fat. Interval training can get your heart pumping and can be a great stress reliever.
