Forget the Vegetarian Diet!
Three Things You Can Do to Slim Down
The road to losing weight is always a difficult one. You want something easy, so you read articles and watch television for the infomercials about different products, fitness devices and herbal supplements that offer a quick weight-loss fix. You have a friend who is involved in Pilates while your brother chose plyometrics. You bounce all of the ideas around while you try to discover which weight loss method will help you lose your excess weight. The truth is there are three tried and proven methods that will help everyone lose the weight they want. Don’t feel as if you need to follow the vegetarian diet your best friend follows just to lose weight. Instead, find your own healthy path!
If you use these methods you will definitely see results.
- Choose a Healthy Diet. For many people just hearing the word “diet” immediately brings to mind the thought of restrictions. Your diet does not need to consist of eating none of one thing and only a little of another. A diet is not necessarily restrictive but consists of the foods you eat for energy. We eat because we are mobile and need energy, and food provides the energy our bodies require. Another reason we eat is to provide the vitamins and minerals the body needs in order to function at optimum performance. Our organs and tissues need specific nutrients for both repair and growth while our cells require a healthy diet to perform each of its functions throughout the day. However, there’s no reason to go on total elimination diets, such as no-carb diets, no-fat diets or a vegetarian diet. With a high-fiber diet like our Fiber35 Diet, you can still eat the foods you love and stay healthy.
- Remain Active. Our bodies are designed to remain active. We have many different tendons, ligaments and muscles that allow us to perform a variety of activities including lifting, turning, bending and running just to name a few. We need to build our body’s strength by remaining active through the process of motion. There is no need to run a marathon— you can start with a 15 or 20 minute walk and build up your stamina until you are able to walk 30 to 60 minutes each day.
- Drink Plenty of Water. Many people are uneducated when it comes to the importance of drinking water. The human body is comprised of over 50 percent water and requires additional water for every process it performs. An insufficient amount of water may cause you to get headaches, suffer from fatigue and nausea. Water helps the skin retain a natural glow and fills in lines and wrinkles. It also prevents you from feeling hungry in between meals, thus preventing you from snacking in between meals. It also helps the body cool down after an exercise routine.
So, forget about following a vegetarian diet if you love to indulge on meat. You’ll only be setting yourself up for failure by eliminating something you love. Instead, choose lean meat choices such as chicken, turkey and fish, and remember to exercise regularly and drink a sufficient amount of water each day. That way, you will be able to lose your excess weight with very little effort. Our bodies need all of these things to function and thrive and implementing these changes will help each person not only lose weight but also maintain a healthy weight.
